The Opportunity

Associate Attorney
We’re looking for an Insurance Defense Attorney to represent our clients in third and first-party litigation. Our successful Associates have natural entrepreneurial abilities and the drive to grow their own individual practice while contributing to the firm’s overall success. Our Associates are self-starters who seek out greater knowledge and better strategies as they broaden and deepen their litigation skills.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide effective and timely communications, information, legal advice and strategy to clients and adjusters in a high volume, fast-paced litigation practice
- Manage the supporting discovery and motions practice of the docket
- Communicate with the court, witnesses, and opposing counsel to manage the docket on a daily basis
- Be responsible for the prompt, efficient, and effective disposition of assigned cases
- Assist in preparing and presenting witnesses and evidence at trials as second chair, with the goal of developing into a solid first chair litigator
About you
- Admission to the Texas bar
- Minimum 3 years of active experience in insurance defense or a similar litigation setting
- Solid strategic thinking skills
- Excellent work ethic
What We Offer
We will consider any resume submitted that meets required litigation experience regardless of the length of law practice. Our base compensation starts at $90K for brand new attorneys, increases to $115-145K for candidates with 1-3 years experience, and $150K+ and opportunities for revenue sharing for attorneys with 3-5 years’ experience independently managing a case docket. Finally, portable business opportunities generate even higher compensation formulas and solid revenue share.

Paralegal - Sugar Land Office
The Paralegal will assist attorney(s) by providing clerical and research support services including document preparation and review; interviewing clients and witnesses; research, investigations, and fact checking; and trial preparation.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Meets with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects.
- Drafts legal documents including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories; files motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures.
- Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provides written analysis to attorneys.
- Interviews clients and witnesses and prepares summaries of their statements.
- Prepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items.
- Assists attorneys with trial preparation, which may include attending trials and hearings.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Manage a large caseload while supporting multiple attorneys
Required Skills/Abilities:

- Familiarity with state courts, including e-filing procedures
- Experience in drafting legal documents
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment
- Proficiency in Lexis Advance for legal research
Education and Experience:
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience as Insurance Defense Paralegal
