Attorney Bio

With over 30 years of litigation and management experience, Steve has developed reporting methodologies that capture the specific metrics most important to each carrier client by providing individual measurable performance figures.

Steve has tried cases to verdict in state, federal and bankruptcy court. He has tried most major types of insurance defense cases such as automobile and homeowners’ liability and first-party extra-contractual litigation. Steve has achieved an AV Peer Review Rating of “Preeminent”.

Steve concentrates his practice in the areas of insurance defense and fraud investigation defending insurance carriers, their agents and their insureds in Catastrophic Injury, Trucking, Deceptive Trade Practices, Hurricane Claims, Bad Faith, Products Liability, and Premises Liability. He is admitted to practice in Texas Federal, State, and Bankruptcy courts as well as Arkansas state courts.

Mr. Bain is a member of the Houston, Fort Bend County, and Texas Bar Associations, as well as the Arkansas State Bar Association and the Insurance Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. He has tried a multitude of cases to verdict in both Texas state and federal courts and in arbitration. Steve actively works cases across the State of Texas. He earned the designation of Certified Forensic Interviewer in recognition of his enhanced skill set in the questioning of witnesses in fraud investigations.

Along with his law partner, Michael “Tate” Barkley, Steve started Bain & Barkley, A Partnership of Professional Corporations, in 2001. He holds a law degree from the University of Houston (J.D. 1988) and received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton (B.A. 1985).
